Abstract

The solar energy collector has a sealed housing (1) whose walls are thermally insulated and a transparent wall (2) towards the sun. This housing is occupied by a black body surrounding a heat exchanger, in which a medium circulates. The black body can be a black liquid such as waster mineral oil, and the transparent wall can be of glass. The housing can be a transparent cylindrical tube clad with thermal insulating material on the part of its periphery not towards the sun and also at the ends. The axis of the tube can be vertical or perpendicular to the sun rays when the sun reaches its zenith. The volume of the black body can be at least 100 litres per square metre of transparent surface exposed to the sun.
