Abstract

The space heating system combines an underground heat exchange system with a solar heating system by connecting the solar heat collection unit to a set of heat exchangers in series, each heat exchanger housed inside a concrete cylinder closed at the bottom, burner below ground level at a depth where it is not effected by seasonal temperature changes, and by means of which a heat exchange fluid is circulated through a set of space heaters. Each concrete cylinder is partially filled with a liquid which is a good conductor of heat, in which are immersed tubes connected to the solar unit and tubes connected to the space heater units, and suitable pumps and valves are fitted in both circuits. The fluid circulated through the space heaters can be hot water.
