Abstract

There are a large number of circuits comprising emitters and receptors for data. Each of these emitter-receptor circuits is associated with the same number of peripheral installations which are individually connected to the central data processing unit. These is one emitter/receiver circuit in each interface unit, and there is a corresponding emitter/receiver circuit at each peripheral data handling installation. Data may be transmitted via two lines, one for emitted data and one for received data. Several sets of apparatus may be connected in series along these lines.
