Abstract

The double male connector is intended for printed circuit type wiring or cabling, both male connectors acting in the same plane. The design is intended to allow production line techniques to be used and provides the two contacts in the form of two basically flat strips (14, 24) in the form of a 'U', one leg being provided with a tail. The contacting ends of the elements (15, 25) are pyramid shaped to provide penetration of the cable insulation. Each carries pressed out spurs serving to trap them in the spacing blocks (33, 34). When assembled the two strips at the base of the 'U' (13, 23) are bowed inward towards each other to trap one of the spacers (33). The whole is provided with an overall casing and the tail section tapered to provide plug type connection.
