Abstract

Two expansion compensator consists of an extension (4a) bolted to the delivery pipe (6) and sliding in a sleeve (1) having high pressure seals (15) at each end. One end (12) of the extension is blanked and holes (11) permit the fluid to flow into the surrounding chamber (3) formed by the sleeve and to the discharge pipe (10). A bellows (26) connects the sleeve and extension mounting flange (5) and a protective cap (18) covers the exposed blanked end of the extension. Any pipe expansion due to pressure or temperature fluctuations is taken up by the extension sliding in the sleeve whilst axial loads are not transmitted, due to the pressure equilibrium on the internal end faces of the sleeve.
