Abstract

The protuberances (12) are hollow so that they sink into soft ground but are squashed against the base of the sole (11) when the ground is harder. They can be of various shapes such as rectangular, triangular, circular, polygonal, or curved and protuberances of one or several kinds are used on one sole. The side walls (19) of the protuberances are thinner in the region of attachment to the sole (22). The elongated protuberances are divied by intermediate partitions (23, 24).
