Abstract

Means for securing a spare-wheel 1 consists of a frame A pivoted at B and C on a wall 2, so as to trap the wheel against the wall, and means D for locking the other end of the frame A to the wall by means of a hook member 33 which is pivotable about pins 38 on a fixed nut 37 from a locking position as in Fig. 4 to a release position (not shown). The nut 37 is mounted on a bolt whose bead is on the other side of the wall 2 and which in the locking position holds the base of the hook member 33 hard against a fixed cross member 32 so that pivoting is not possible. The hook member 33 is U-shaped and its opposing sides are guided between the opposing sides of a U-shaped member 30 fixed on the cross member 32. When the bolt head 36 is turned the nut moves out, releasing the hook member 33 from constraint from the cross-member 32 and allowing it to pivot about the pins 38 to release the end of the frame A.
