Abstract

The plinth 1 is obtained from a strip 1' of marble, granite or the like, provided with a polished face, which is fixed horizontally with a certain slope in order to carry out the following operations: a) the cutting and the polishing of the front/upper zone b) a number of vertical cuts with which the rear vertical face 1d of the plinth is defined and c) a number of horizontal cuts with which that which will be the horizontal base 1c of the plinth 1 is obtained. The machine used for carrying out said operations comprises a chassis or frame 2, an upper bridge 3 on which is mounted a carriage 4 carrying a number of machining heads 5, 6 and 7, and a work table 8 with means for fixing the strip 1' to be machined.
