Abstract

A bow ramp (109) for a boat (120) is described; the bow ramp (109) has a first part (101) hinged (130) to the boat (109) at a first end; a second part (102) hinged (140) to the first part (101) at a second end (108) of the first part (101). The ramp (109) also has raising and lowering means (110,170) for raising and lowering the ramp (109), the raising and lowering means comprising: a wire (170) on at least one side of the ramp (109). The wire (170) is connected to both the first (101) and second (102) parts, and a motor (110) for winding the wire (170) is provided. The wire (170) controls both the first (101) and second (102) parts during raising and lowering of the ramp (109). A method utilising the ramp (109) is also described.
