Abstract

An apparatus and method is provided for maximizing the numberof digital radiological images displayed on a display screen orprinted on a sheet of film. Digital radiological frames(20,32,42,50), including radiological images (26,30,36,44) andnon-images portions (22,28,40,46), produced by a computedtomography device, a magnetic resonance imaging device, anultrasound device or other radiological equipment are firststored. The radiological image portion (26,30,36,44) of theframes (20,32,42,50) are then identified and the non-imageportion (22,28,40,46) of the frames (20,32,42,50) are reduced,producing a modified radiological frames (54,56,58,60).Finally, the modified radiological frames (54,56,58,60) arearranged relative to one another in an area corresponding tothe area of a display screen and displayed on a display screen(86) or arranged in an area corresponding to the area of asheet of film and printed on a sheet of film.
