   - a rigid shell (1) intended to accommodate one foot of the skier;

   - and in which the joint axis (11) is capable of displacement in an oblong opening (20, 60, 70, 90) provided for this purpose in the shell (1) (or in the cuff (10)), at the level of the malleoli, and of being positioned in this opening (20, 60, 70, 90) by means of a positioning member,

   characterised in that, in the position during use, the joint orifice is respectively constituted:

   - on the one hand by one end (21, 22, 68, 73) of the oblong opening (20, 60, 70, 90);

   - and on the other hand by a support surface (27, 49, 53, 72) of the positioning member (25, 40) of the joint axis (11) in the opening (20, 60, 70, 90).
2. Ski boot according to claim 1, characterised in that the end of the opening (21, 22, 68, 73) and the support surface (27, 49, 53, 72) facing the positioning member (25, 40) are both rounded.
3. Ski boot according to claim 1, characterised in that the positioning member is slidable along the shell (1) (or across the cuff (10)).

Ski boot according to claim 1, characterised in that the positioning member is constituted by an arch (50) surrounding the rear of the shell (1), jointed on said shell, particularly in the sole (2) under the plantar arch, said arch (50) having on each of its two lateral branches (51) an overhang (52) provided at the level of the opening (20), and the free end of which forms a support surface (53).
5. Ski boot according to claim 1, characterised in that the support surface (27) partially surrounds the joint axis (18) in order to form a hook (57) capable, when the boot is opened, of carrying the cuff (10) downwards.

Ski boot according to claim 4, characterised in that one at least of the two branches (51) of the arch (50) has, at the level of the rear of the cuff (10), a member connecting it to said cuff, constituted by a stub (55) co-operating with an opening (20) provided for this purpose on the cuff (10) (or on the arch).
7. Ski boot according to claim 4, characterised in that, in the position during use, the arch (50) is locked on the cuff (10) and comprises a retractable means of rear support for the cuff (10).
8. Ski boot according to claim 1, characterised in that the opening (20) is located on a part (65) mounted for this purpose on the shell (1) (or on the cuff (10)).
9. Ski boot according to claim 1, characterised in that the cuff (10) is formed from two collars, respectively a forward (80) and a rear (85) collar, the forward collar (80) being jointed in a fixed manner on the shell (1), while the rear collar (85) is jointed on the shell (1) in accordance with the arrangements in claim 1.
10. Ski boot according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the end of the opening is formed by a part whose position is adjustable, permitting personal adjustment of the position of the cuff.
