Abstract

The apparatus is intended especially as a replacement for previous mechanical watchman's time-pieces. By means of an optical infrared-operated reader (3), labels affixed at the locations to be sought are read off and are stored by means of a microcomputer. The infrared mode makes it possible to use labels which are completely black to the eye and which are difficult to copy. The data read are outputted via the same reading head which also serves for reading the labels. <IMAGE>
