Stand; Conventional wound plasters cover wounds, but due to their technical features they are not able to provide compression.
Problem: Small cuts and puncture wounds in joint areas often tend to cause bleeding. The cause of this bleeding is, on the one hand, a lack of compression on the wound itself and, on the other hand, for example in dialysis patients, an increased tendency to bleed as a result of medication to thin the blood or a coagulation disorder.
Lösung: Das Fixationspflaster besteht aus 3 Grundelementen:Solution: The fixation plaster consists of 3 basic elements:
1. einer elastischen, selbstklebenden Pflastergrundlage (Fig. 1,1)1. an elastic, self-adhesive plaster base (Fig. 1,1)
2. einer Spezial-Wundkompresse (Fig.1,2)2. a special wound compress (Fig.1,2)
3. einer zweigeteilten, die Klebefläche und die Wundkompresse abdeckenden Schutzfolie (Fig.1,3 und 4)3. a two-part protective film covering the adhesive surface and the wound dressing (Fig.1,3 and 4)
The special wound dressing (Fig.3/1) is made of a material that has a high swelling capacity. This wound dressing swells when it comes into contact with moisture (blood, secretion). The volume can increase threefold to fivefold depending on the moisture content. This creates a compression that causes the bleeding area to close quickly. The wound dressing is applied to the plaster base in such a way that an adhesive edge of at least 0.5 cm remains on each area. The protective film (Fig.1/3 and 1/4) is divided into two parts to enable it to be removed from the adhesive surface without touching the wound dressing.
