Dazu entfernt man üblicherweise den Führungsstab aus demKatheter, füllt den Katheter mit Kochsalzlösung und leitet über die Kochsalzlösungmit Hilfe einer Stahlkanüle die EKG- Spannung aus dem Blutgefäß des Patienten ab.Dieses Verfahren ist sehr umständlich und mit dem Risiko bakterieller Kontaminationbehaftet.
