Nachteile der absorbierenden Verbände ist dabei die Tatsache, daß diese Verbände die Wunde austrocknen können, was für die Reepithelisierung und Wundheilung von Nachteil ist. Im Gegensatz dazu haben semi-permeable oder feuchtigkeits-undurchlässige Verbände den Vorteil, daß sie eine Reepithelisierung der Wunde fördern, andererseits kommt es oft zu der oben erwähnten Akkumulation von Wundsekret mit darauffolgender Infektionsbildung. Eine in jüngerer Zeit angewandte Methode der Wundbehandlung löst dieses Problem durch Abdecken der Wunde mit einer Membran mit darunterliegendem Saugschlauch, der entweder durch einen Stichkanal durch gesunde Haut oder aber zwischen der Haut und der Membran von der Wunde wegführt. Diese Methode, bei der die Wundheilung wahrscheinlich außerdem auch durch den auf die Wunde einwirkenden Unterdruck gefördert wird, hat jedoch den Nachteil, daß entweder gesundes Gewebe verletzt und dem Risiko einer Infektion ausgesetzt wird, oder bei Ableitung zwischen der r Haut und dem Wundver band ein luft- und sekretdichter Abschluß meistens nur extrem schwer zu erreichen ist.A very large number of different wound dressings were made during the coursedeveloped over time, starting from osmotically active associations such as honey orPeru balsam, which may have been covered with an absorbent material untiltowards the currently most modern concept of wound covering with a semipermeable membrane, which is provided with an adhesive. Der Wundverband besteht aus einer luftdichten Membran1, die an ihrer Unterseite mit einer Adhäsivschicht oder einem Gel2 versehen ist. In der Mitte dieser Membran befindet sich ein vorzugsweise aus einem weichen Elastomer gefertigter Drainagekörper3, welcher an seiner Unterseite multiple Perforationen4 aufweist. Beide Elemente1 und3 sind miteinander funktionell fest verbunden. Die Membran ist mit dem Adhäsiv2 auf der Hautoberfläche5 luftdicht befestigt. Wundsekret6, welches sich unter der Membran ansammelt tritt durch die Perforationen4 in den Drainagekörper3 ein. Über das Ausleitungsstück10, welches ein integriertes Ventil7 haben kann, ist der Drainagekörper3 mit einem Schlauch8 mit einem externen, nicht dargestellten Unterdrucksystem verbunden. Nach Aufbringen des Wundverbandes auf die Wunde9 löst sich die wasserlösliche Membran23 auf, wodurch der durch den Schwamm21 erzeugte Unterdruck auf die Wundfläche wirken kann.
