It uses a hot plate to heat the skin and only treats very localized itchy skin. It does not work on large areas of itchy skin, however, only such large areas of itchy skin need treatment most. Another problem associated with antipruritics is that they only work on flat skin surfaces, not curved ones. The third problem is that it's not good for blistered skin, but most severe patients have blisters. Many patients have asked us to make larger and more curved antipruritic devices. To fill this unmet need, we created the Anti-Itch Hair Dryer to treat itchy skin and most skin conditions.

It's very similar to a hair dryer, but with a few improvements. Our improvements will allow hair dryers to safely and effectively treat itchy skin. Anti-itch blow dryers can cover large areas and can be used on curvilinear areas or on blistered skin. It is effective in treating itchy skin all over the body. Itchy hair dryers are the answer to all kinds of itchy skin problems.

First of all, when the hair dryer is too close to the skin, it can cause damage to the skin. Secondly, when you put it at a distance to treat itching, you will feel a burning sensation, and most people will simply remove it because of the burning sensation. They just don't heat the skin long enough to heal the itching. Third, when the blow dryer is held too far from the skin, it can aggravate the itching because it just heats up the skin. Heating the skin to the point of not burning causes increased local blood flow, which increases inflammation; it also causes skin mast cells to release more histamine, which increases itching. That's why people itch more when the weather gets hotter.

Heating the skin will only speed up the process, causing more severe itching. Burning the skin, however, does not. It stops the process. According to one report, it causes the antigen to bind to two or more antibodies to form a multimer that does not trigger a calcium surge; meanwhile, burning the skin denatures some calcium channel degranulation proteins, which relieves the itching.

A rented model Y260SR dryer, model 259Y, 125VAC, 60Hz, 1875W, manufactured by Cornell, has three settings to control the temperature of the hot air at three different temperature levels.
