[ detailed description ] embodiments
As shown in fig. 1 to 6, the present invention discloses anelectrical connector 100, which includes aninsulative housing 10, aterminal module 20 mounted in theinsulative housing 10, aninner housing 30 received in theinsulative housing 10, and anouter housing 40 covering the outer side of theinsulative housing 10. Theelectrical connector 100 is provided with amating cavity 101 opened forward for insertion of a mating connector. Theinsulating body 10 includes amain body 12, anadditional portion 15 located below themain body 12, and aframe 11 located at the front end of themain body 12. Thebody portion 12 has a width greater than that of theadditional portion 15. The width and height of theframe body 11 are greater than those of thebody 12. Thebody portion 12 includes atop wall 16, abottom wall 17, twoside walls 18 connecting thetop wall 16 and thebottom wall 17, arear wall 19, and atongue plate 102 extending forward from therear wall 19. Saidtongue 102 is located in thedocking chamber 101. Therear wall 19 is provided with amounting groove 190 that opens rearward. Theterminal module 20 includes aninsulating block 21 and a plurality ofconductive terminals 22 held on theinsulating block 21. Theinsulation block 21 is installed in theinstallation groove 190 from the rear to the front. The gap between theinsulating block 21 and themounting groove 190 is filled with a sealingcolloid 50, so that the good waterproof performance of theelectric connector 100 is ensured. Theconductive terminal 22 includes afixing portion 221, anelastic contact portion 222 extending forward from thefixing portion 221, and a solderingportion 223 bent downward from the rear end of thefixing portion 221. Theinsulating block 21 is injection molded on thefixing portion 221, so that a gap between theinsulating block 21 and thefixing portion 221 is avoided. Theresilient contact 222 extends forwardly into thetongue plate 102 and is exposed at the surface of thetongue plate 102. Theadditional portion 15 extends downwardly from thebottom wall 17. Theadditional portion 15 includes twoopposite side portions 151 and arear portion 154 connecting the twoside portions 151, and the twoside portions 151 and therear portion 154 form areceiving space 156 opened forward and downward. Therear portion 154 is provided with a vertically extendingterminal receiving groove 155, and thesoldering portion 223 is received in theterminal receiving groove 155.
Theouter housing 40 includes a firsttop wall 41, twofirst side walls 42 bent downward from two side edges of the firsttop wall 41, and a firstrear wall 46 bent downward from a rear edge of the firsttop wall 41. Theouter shell 40 is provided with awelding foot 45 extending downwardly from the lower edge of thefirst side wall 42 thereof. Theside portion 151 is provided with abending portion 152 bent outward and backward from the front end thereof, and aholding groove 153 is formed between thebending portion 152 and theside portion 151. Thewelding foot 45 is held in theholding groove 153. The lower edge of thefirst side wall 42 is bent inward to form acatch 43.
