A guidewire may also be employed to guide components to the pedicle screw and / or guide the guidewire into position. The disclosed communication mechanisms may include a sheath sheath positioned around them. The sheath is made of a material that conforms to the movements of the contact and support members, while exhibiting substantially inert behavior with respect to the contour of the anatomical structures.
