After a longsuspension period, Italian airlineITA Airways will resume itsTel Aviv-Rome routestartingJanuary 1, 2026. The airline will operate two regular daily flightsunder its winter schedule, reconnecting Tel Aviv withFiumicino Airport in Rome, one of its main hubs.
The decision to suspend all flights to Israel was made due to security concerns and was expected to continue until the end of December 2025.
Considered a leading airline among business and leisure travelers to Italy and Europe, ITA Airways is part of theLufthansa Group, which has gradually resumed operations to Israel in recent months. Subsidiary airlines, includingEurowings, which recently resumed flights last Sunday, have also restarted direct routes to Tel Aviv, indicating a recovery in air travel to and from Israel.
The airline will operate a new A321 NEO aircraft featuring a business class with lie-flat seats, a premium class, and an economy class.
