RPG Maker MZ: Blood Splatter Effect 



This plugin enhances your combat experience by adding a blood splatter animation (from your animation database) and optional sound effects when characters hit their targets. This Animation plays on top of your attack animations (And Magic if you set it in the parameters).


New Major Feature:        Death Animations!

  • The plugin now supports custom death animations for enemies and actors!
  • Set a default death animation ID in the plugin parameters.
  • Use the new note tag <deathanim: x> to specify a unique death animation ID for each enemy or actor.

Features:

  • Blood Splatter Animation: Play a customizable blood splatter animation (From your Database) upon hitting enemies or allies.
  • Death Animation: Play a customizable death animation when enemies or actors die.
  • Sound Effects: Optionally play a sound effect alongside the animation. You can set it to "none" if you prefer to use the sound from the animation itself.
  • Toggle Option: Easily enable or disable the blood effect during gameplay with a simple plugin command.
  • Customizable Parameters: Adjust the blood animation ID, death animation ID, speed multiplier, and default state of the blood effect in the plugin parameters.

Terms of Use:

  • This plugin can be used in free or commercial projects.
  • Please credit Paradajz when using this plugin in your games.

Installation:

  1. Download the plugin and save it as BloodSplatterEffect.js in your project's js/plugins/ folder.
  2. Enable the plugin in the Plugin Manager in RPG Maker MZ.
  3. Configure the desired parameters, including the blood animation ID, death animation ID, and sound effect.

Plugin Command:

  • Use ToggleBloodEffect to turn the blood effect on or off during your game events.

Notetags:

  • Use <noblood> Notetag for Actors, Enemies (Ghosts for example) and skills to not play the blood animation.
  • New! Use <deathanim: x> to set a custom death animation ID for specific actors or enemies.
  • New! Use <bloodanim: x> to set a custom blood splatter animation ID for specific actors or enemies.

I tested it in my project with a lot of plugins including many VisuStella plugins such as Battle Core etc., and it works without a problem.

I have a question- is there a way for the blood splatter animations to activate on specified enemies via a note tag of sorts? I'm curious because some enemies could be non-organic or have different coloured blood etc.

Hello,

Yes there is a notetag for the enemy notebox.

It will play that specific animation.

there is also a <noblood> notetag to show no blood at all.

Interesting, is there also a way to handle the hit animations dependent on weapon types, elements and such? or even miss effects? Curious because I would love to see how this plugin would handle more diverse effects for firearms and lasers etc.
