OUR FOUNDER

Lili‘uokalani

Liliʻuokalani was an extraordinarily accomplished woman whose intelligence, creativity, and selflessness led to the establishment of a transformative charitable trust. A member of the Kalākaua Dynasty, she was Hawaiʻi’s last reigning monarch.

Queen’s Mele

Liliʻuokalani was a talented poet and an accomplished musician. She and her three siblings, referred to as Na Lani ʻEha (the Royal Four), wrote some of the most treasured and timeless songs of Hawaiʻi.

Community Resilience: Key Findings

The purpose of this brief is to understand the nature of community resilience across Hawai‘i. County-level data are provided using a resiliency framework with four categories: sense of community, civic engagement, education and digital equity, and quality of life and hope for the future. Results may inform organizations and improve programs and policies that foster community resilience and wellbeing.
