Lovari (Lovara Romani)

Lovari is a variety of Romani spoken mainly in Hungary, where it is the main form of Romani. It is also spoken in Austria, Germany, Poland, Croatia and a number of other countries. It belongs to the Northern Vlax group of Romani dialects and has influences from Hungarian and Western Slavic languages. It is also known as Lovara Romani.

The name Lovari means "horse dealer" and comes from the Hungarian wordló (horse). The Lovari people were traditionally horse traders and fortune tellers with roots in Transylvania.
