Wade is alazypenguinvillager in theAnimal Crossing series. After his debut inDoubutsu no Mori e+, he would remain absent from the series untilAnimal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo. Data for him exists inAnimal Crossing: Happy Home Designer but ultimately remains unused. His name may be derived fromwading in water, a behavior of penguins when hunting for fish.

InNew Horizons, Wade has the naturehobby and may be found reading a book pertaining to an item he is studying, which can be either flowers, bugs, fish, or fossils.

As alazy villager, Wade has a relaxed, laid-back lifestyle and will appear friendly toward the player. He often talks about food and is humorous or naïve during conversations. During conversations with other villagers, he generally gets along well withpeppy,smug, andcranky villagers, whilesnooty andjock villagers may not get along with him due to their conflicting lifestyles. InNew Horizons, Wade goes to sleep at 11 PM and wakes up at 8 AM.
