Tigers are a species ofvillager in theAnimal Crossing series, often viewed, alongside thelion, as the feline equivalent of thewolf. They are one of three types oflarge cat that appear in the games. They have rounded heads with three fur spikes on each cheek, rounded ears set high on their heads, prominent upper jaws, and thick cat-like tails.
There are seven tiger villagers, of which four are male and three are female, making it a predominantly male species. Three arejock, two arepeppy, one iscranky, and one issnooty.Rowan was originally a crankyislander before becoming a jock villager inAnimal Crossing: Wild World. There are currently nolazy,normal,smug, orbig sister tigers.
Due to Tybalt returning in theAnimal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo update, the tiger, along with thehorse and therabbit, is the second villager species in which all of the villagers of that species appear in the same game together afterDoubutsu no Mori e+, the first being theoctopus. All of the tigers who appear inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons also appear inAnimal Crossing: Pocket Camp. Additionally,Rolf is the only tiger to appear in every game so far.
Before theNew Horizons1.9.0 Free Update, the tiger was the only species to have all of its villagers throughout the series appear in this game; it now shares this distinction with thedeer and therabbit.
