The Marquee is a building in thecity inAnimal Crossing: City Folk. For 800Bells, the player can go and seeDr. Shrunk for a show to learn new emotions. This is a change fromAnimal Crossing: Wild World, in which Dr. Shrunk taught the player emotions in their town.

Before entering the theater, the player must speak with the clerk to purchase a ticket. The clerk will offer a selection of four different shows to see, with each being named after theemotion they will teach the player. The shows available at the Marquee change once a week on Sunday.

Inside the Marquee, there may be somevillagers who are waiting to watch the show. Upon talking to them, they will tell the player about their expectations and views on Dr. Shrunk andFrillard, as well as the Marquee in general. After being seated, theemcee will announce the show.

Rarely, an older lizard namedFrillard will perform a show instead of Dr. Shrunk and will teach the player emotions that cannot be learned from Dr. Shrunk.

Trivia[edit]

  • Somecranky villagers state thatSaharah used to do stand-up in the Marquee without an accent.
  • Jock villagers will sometimes mention hearing rumors of a second floor that the performers use.
    • Despite the rumors, there is no way to access any kind of secret room in the Marquee. However, there are windows near the top of the building.
