Tad is ajockfrogvillager in theAnimal Crossing series. He first appeared inDoubutsu no Mori, and after his appearance inDoubutsu no Mori e+, he remained absent from the series untilAnimal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo, returning alongside fellow frogsHuck andRaddle. His name likely comes from the word "tadpole," the name given to a young frog.
InNew Horizons, Tad has the playhobby and can run around with his arms extended at any time, rather than only outside Resident Services during a scripted activity with a group of villagers.

Tad is a dark green frog with white eyes and black pupils peering to the left. He has a cleft, smiling mouth.

As ajock villager, Tad is energetic and has an interest in physical fitness and activity. He often talks about exercise or sports and may brag about his physical fitness. While often friendly to the player, he may comment on their fitness. During conversations with other villagers, he generally gets along well withpeppy villagers due to their similar hyper personalities and will also get along withsmug villagers, while he may offendsnooty villagers by critiquing their fitness and annoycranky villagers with his hyper personality. InNew Horizons, Tad goes to sleep at 12:30 AM and wakes up at 6:30 AM.
