Starcrossed Day, also known asTanabata, is an event in theAnimal Crossing series that occurs onJuly 7. It appears inDoubutsu no Mori+ and in Japanese towns inAnimal Crossing: New Leaf.

Appearances[edit]

InDoubutsu no Mori+ andDoubutsu no Mori e+[edit]

InDoubutsu no Mori+,Tortimer appears near theshrine on Tanabata and will give the player atanabata palm if spoken to. InAnimal Crossing, this item is instead obtained fromCrazy Redd's.

While the event itself does not appear inDoubutsu no Mori e+,Mom sends the player a letter mentioning the event on July 7.

InCity Folk[edit]

In Japanese towns inAnimal Crossing: City Folk, Tortimer once again appears to givebamboo grass to the player.

InNew Leaf[edit]

In Japanese towns inAnimal Crossing: New Leaf,Isabelle appears in the plaza on Starcrossed Day and will give the playerbamboo grass if spoken to.

InNew Horizons[edit]

Although the event does not formally occur inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, it is celebrated throughout the month of July withbamboo grass that can be purchased from theNook Shopping service. Additionally, the relatedCowherd & Weaving Girl Day (otherwise known as theQixi Festival, the Chinese holiday from which Tanabata is derived) is celebrated throughout August with theHikoboshi outfit and theOrihime outfit, which can also be purchased through Nook Shopping. Unlike inNew Leaf, these items are available worldwide.
