Squirrels are a species ofvillager in theAnimal Crossing series. They resemble real squirrels with their fluffy tails and facial features. Most of the squirrels also possess a pinstripe pattern on their tail;Tasha andIone are the only exceptions. The majority of squirrels have noses, withMarshal being the only squirrel to noticeably lack such a feature. Several squirrels' favorite sayings and initial catchphrases include the word "nut".
There are twenty-two squirrel villagers, of which sixteen are female and six are male, making it a predominantly female species. Of these, seven arenormal, four arepeppy, four aresnooty, two arejock, two arecranky, one islazy, one issmug, and one isbig sister.
Kit is the only squirrel who has not reappeared sinceDoubutsu no Mori e+. ExcludingCece andViché, all of the squirrels who appear inNew Horizons also appear inAnimal Crossing: Pocket Camp.
