Sly is ajockalligatorvillager in theAnimal Crossing series. He first appeared inAnimal Crossing: New Leaf and has appeared in all subsequent games. His name is derived from his camouflage clothing and decorations which make him hidden. Similarly, his Japanese name comes from "hide." His English catchphrase "hoo-rah" is one of the many variations of a common battle cry used by different branches of the United States' military. Other versions include "Oo-rah", "Hoo-yah", and "Hoo-ah". His English catchphrase, along with the inclusion of theCombat Helmet in his home inAnimal Crossing: New Leaf imply his camouflage design is related to the military.

InNew Horizons, Sly has the playhobby and can run around with his arms extended at any time, rather than only outside Resident Services during a scripted activity with a group of villagers.

Sly is an alligator with a tan, orange, and brown camouflage pattern on his body, and green eyes with black pupils that have white dots in the center. His camouflage appearance is similar toCamofrog.

Personality[edit]

As ajock villager, Sly is energetic and has an interest in physical fitness and activity. He often talks about exercise or sports and may brag about his physical fitness. While often friendly to the player, he may comment on their fitness. During conversations with other villagers, he generally gets along well withpeppy villagers due to their similar hyper personalities and will also get along withsmug villagers, while he may offendsnooty villagers by critiquing their fitness and annoycranky villagers with his hyper personality. InNew Horizons, Sly goes to sleep at 12:30 AM and wakes up at 6:30 AM.
