Samson is ajockmousevillager in theAnimal Crossing series who appears in all games to date. His catchphrase, "pipsqueak," is based on the sound made by mice and the termpipsqueak, which meanslittle. His Japanese catchphrase, "chū," is based on the Japanese onomatopoeia for a mouse's squeaking,chūchū (ちゅうちゅう). His favorite saying inAnimal Crossing: New Leaf,Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer,Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, andAnimal Crossing: New Horizons is a pun onTheodore Roosevelt's famous quote, "Speak softly and carry a big stick."

InNew Horizons, Samson has the fitnesshobby and will wearsporty shades and lift heavydumbbells while exercising.

Appearance[edit]

Samson is a smoky gray mouse with a black nose and a wide smile. He has pink in the inside of his ears and black stripes on his tail. The shape of his black vertical eyes resembleDora's, and his arched eyebrows resembleChico and Dora's. When Samson is in a good mood, he will consistently display a large, toothy grin while he talks, similar to Chico. If Samson is angry or depressed, he will move his mouth in a normal manner when he talks. When he is surprised, his eyes have a sclera, similar to Dora.

As ajock villager, Samson is energetic and has an interest in physical fitness and activity. He often talks about exercise or sports and may brag about his physical fitness. While often friendly to the player, he may comment on their fitness. During conversations with other villagers, he generally gets along well withpeppy villagers due to their similar hyper personalities and will also get along withsmug villagers, while he may offendsnooty villagers by critiquing their fitness and annoycranky villagers with his hyper personality. InNew Horizons, Samson goes to sleep at 12:30 AM and wakes up at 6:30 AM.
