Rowan is atiger in theAnimal Crossing series. He first appeared inDoubutsu no Mori+ as acrankyislander, and after his appearance inDoubutsu no Mori e+, he appears in all subsequent games as ajockvillager. This makes Rowan the first villager to have a personality change between games, followed byHarry andViolet.

InNew Horizons, Rowan has the fitnesshobby and will wearsporty shades and lift heavydumbbells while exercising.

Appearance[edit]

Rowan is an orange tiger with black stripes and a large white muzzle. He has small belittling eyes, a characteristic of his former cranky personality, and an aqua color in his ears. As an islander inDoubutsu no Mori+,Animal Crossing, andDoubutsu no Mori e+, he wore a straw hat, which he no longer wears in future installments.

Personality[edit]

Rowan's personality changes from acranky islander inAnimal Crossing to ajock villager fromAnimal Crossing: Wild World onwards. He is the first villager to have his personality changed.

Animal Crossing[edit]

As acranky islander, Rowan has a suave, romantic nature prone to smooth-talking flirtation and nostalgically reminiscing about the past. In conversation, Rowan will often bring up the romance of the island's scenery while charming the player. His debonair and sweet but somewhat vain personality will often result in showing off his talents and experience in attempts to sing to or dance with the player. He asks the player for stylish furniture he can coordinate with in his island house to impress female visitors.

SinceAnimal Crossing: Wild World, Rowan has ajock personality, which means he is energetic and has an interest in physical fitness and activity. He often talks about exercise or sports and may brag about his physical fitness. While often friendly to the player, he may comment on their fitness. During conversations with other villagers, he generally gets along well withpeppy villagers due to their similar hyper personalities and will also get along withsmug villagers, while he may offendsnooty villagers by critiquing their fitness and annoycranky villagers with his hyper personality. InNew Horizons, Rowan goes to sleep at 12:30 AM and wakes up at 6:30 AM.

As an islander inAnimal Crossing, Rowan has a favorite fruit and one he is allergic to. He is allergic to pears and loves apples, meaning giving him the former reduces the likelihood of him droppingBells, and giving him the latter increases the likelihood of him dropping Bells.
