Roald is ajockpenguinvillager in theAnimal Crossing series who appears in all games to date. He may be named afterRoald Amundsen, a Norwegian polar explorer who led the first successful expedition to reach the South Pole, as well as being the first person to reach both poles.

InNew Horizons, Roald has the fitnesshobby and will wearsporty shades and lift heavydumbbells while exercising.

Appearance[edit]

Roald is a dark navy blue penguin and may be anAdélie penguin. His eyes have large black pupils, with orange eyelids, which become arch-shaped when Roald is delighted. He has a stomach that is white, and a beak, as every penguin has, that is yellow-orange. His feet are the same color as his beak, and his wings are the same color as his back.

As ajock villager, Roald is energetic and has an interest in physical fitness and activity. He often talks about exercise or sports and may brag about his physical fitness. While often friendly to the player, he may comment on their fitness. During conversations with other villagers, he generally gets along well withpeppy villagers due to their similar hyper personalities and will also get along withsmug villagers, while he may offendsnooty villagers by critiquing their fitness and annoycranky villagers with his hyper personality. InNew Horizons, Roald goes to sleep at 12:30 AM and wakes up at 6:30 AM.
