Pigs are a species ofvillager in theAnimal Crossing series. They are characterized by their curled tails, flopped ears, and large snouts. In all games up toAnimal Crossing: Wild World, the pig villagers had pointed ears, similar to thecat villagers. InAnimal Crossing: City Folk onwards, however, the pigs instead are given flopped ears, making the pig the first villager species to receive a design change between games.

There are nineteen pig villagers, one of which is anislander. Eleven are male and eight are female, making it a predominantly male species. Of these, five arejock, three arenormal, three arecranky, two arelazy, two arepeppy, two aresnooty, one issmug, and one isbig sister.

Hambo,Pigleg, andSue E are the only pigs who have not reappeared sinceDoubutsu no Mori e+, and additionally,Ganon is missing fromAnimal Crossing: New Horizons. All of the pigs who appear inNew Horizons also appear inAnimal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

  • Thebird,cat,bear cub,hippo,monkey, andmouse also had a villager of every personality in their debut installments. However, no cats had the smug personality untilAnimal Crossing: New Horizons. No birds, hippos, or mice have ever had the big sister personality, whereas no cubs or monkeys have ever had the smug personality.
