Peppy[1] is a femalevillager personality type in theAnimal Crossing series. Peppy villagers are portrayed as energetic, excited, and ditzy, embodying thevalley girl stereotype.
As of the release ofAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, there are a total of 66 peppy villagers across the series;[nb 1] 53 appear inNew Horizons.

Peppy villagers are energetic, friendly, and overly excited, allowing them to get along easily with many villagers. InAnimal Crossing: New Leaf, they speak with chipper, bouncy voices and enjoy cheering when talking withplayers and other villagers; they are rarely discouraged from doing anything. They come out of their homes often and are always excited to see the player. They have short attention spans, making them forget easily, and wild imaginations, which may sometimes lead them to unintentionally gossip about other villagers.
They often use stereotypical valley girl phrases like "ohmigosh!!!" and "like" (as in, "That is, like, so cool!"). When they are describing certain things, they often use "SOOOO" and "totally!" Their ambition is to be popular, famous or a pop star, claiming letters sent by the player as "fan mail" and are jealous when the player is the center of attention, claiming it to be their job. InNew Horizons, peppy villagers will also sometimes say "très" (French for "very") in their dialogue, and tend to be excited on days whenK.K. Slider appears on the island. They also love to talk about becoming a recording star, saying phrases like "Want to practice being pop stars together?".
InAnimal Crossing, the peppyislanders ofAnimal Island, which includeElina,Flossie, andPlucky (untilWelcome amiibo), as well as the peppyDoubutsu no Mori e+ islandersCharlise (untilNew Leaf),Koharu, andViolet are headstrong and bossy rather than their sunny and upbeat mainland counterparts; peppy islanders often reminisce about the past and coach the player as if they are older than peppy villagers. This makes them similar to thebig sister personality introduced inAnimal Crossing: New Leaf, though only Charlise and Plucky return with the big sister personality.
InAnimal Crossing, peppy villagers go to sleep at 11:30 PM and wake up at 7:00 AM. InAnimal Crossing: Wild World andAnimal Crossing: City Folk, they go to sleep at 2:30 AM and wake up at 7:00 AM. InAnimal Crossing: New Leaf, they go to sleep at 1:00 AM and wake up at 9:00 AM. InNew Horizons, they usually go to sleep at 1:30 AM and wake up at 7:00 AM.

They find it easy to get along with other villagers, but may become the center of jokes and gossip created bysnooty andcranky villagers, and when either of the two are rude, peppy villagers are rude back to them. They get along withnormal,smug,big sister,lazy, andjock villagers, who naturally avoid making rude comments and share similar lifestyles with them, such as kindness with normal villagers, food with lazy villagers, activities with jock villagers, fashion advice with smug villagers and advice from big sister villagers. They do not hesitate to talk to snooty and cranky villagers, but may sometimes annoy them with their conflicting habits, such as jumpiness, which conflicts with the cranky/snooty "refined" stature.
