Spam filter[edit]

help i got a problem. i tried to save a page but there was a url in the edit summary. for some reason it said it was spam even though it was just a shortened url of a grammar explanation page. help. See this video:

This is because MediaWiki (the software) by default has filters for URL shorteners as a precaution for spam. I will ask Nookipedia staff if the link shortener URL is good to go to be whitelisted. --PanchamBro (talk •contributions) 20:25, September 1, 2024 (EDT)

After talking with some staff, there's really no reason and nothing good to come to whitelist the shortened URL that you posted in your edit summary as it obfuscates the actual link with no knowledge as to where it goes and that it can break.

However, it should be noted that you can post the link by removing all the extra bits at the end of the non-shortened URL to only havehttps://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365-life-hacks/writing/quotation-mark-rules instead. Nookipedia Discord ban[edit]

Username: yoshiwoollyworld (username at time of ban was Chinchou#6286)

Reason for ban: I barged in multiple NIWA servers (including Nookipedia) during March 2021 to ask questions about harassment so I could troll everyone across NIWA by telling everyone that I bullied someone on Facebook. I bullied the guy because he and his friends bullied me first and I wanted to get revenge for the bullying. Don’t think I did this on Nookipedia’s server specifically but on other NIWA servers I did bother other people by dming them asking personal questions about which countries they live in. I didn’t intend to be a creep with this but I just never really thought I was asking really personal of a question compared to asking for people’s house addresses or something so I thought everyone would be comfortable sharing this info. I also bothered lots of people about topics involving the police and didn’t really respect people’s boundaries and wishes in general.

I absolutely deserved the ban from the Nookipedia server and probably don’t deserve a second chance nor will I make another appeal if this one fails but I wanted to tell everyone that I will properly behave myself and will not act the way I did before ever again.SuperMarioWorld 23:15, September 3, 2024 (EDT)

Cargo error with Felicity[edit]

It's very mysterious, since I don't see anything incorrect about the syntax of {{PGVillagerInfo}}, but I specified the image name onFelicity's page instead of letting the template auto-generate it based on the page name and category, and it seems to be okay now. My thinking is it must have messed up afterthis edit that removedCategory:New characters in Doubutsu no Mori e+, since that's what the "#cargo_store" section is looking for and if it doesn't see it, it defaults toPG Model instead ofDnMe+ Model.HylianAngel (talk) 01:57, September 5, 2024 (EDT)

Issue with Gabi (villager) not appearing[edit]

Issue on the List of Villagers page[edit]

Another cargo issue has once again arisen, this time on theList of villagers page under the "Statistics" section. So far, the numbers under both "Total" and "Existing" (both under "Carried forward" and "Absent returning") are showing up as intended, but almost everything under "New" (both under "Introduced" and "Fully recurring") is set to zero, with only the numbers forDoubutsu no Mori andDoubutsu no Mori e+ working as intended. Furthermore, the notes for bothDoubutsu no Mori+/Animal Crossing andNew Leaf also have the numbers set to zero (though strangely, the one note forNew Horizons under "New" works fine despite the regular numbers also being set to zero).TheJacketedTerrapin 21:55, April 14, 2025 (EDT)

I will let you know by the way that we do not supportthe style parser that you have been attempting to use. Even without the Abuse Filter blocking the unauthorized URL, it would not have done much for your userpage, and I suggest using inline CSS (e.g. anything with a div/span tag) if you plan to use CSS on your userpage.
