Monster Hunter is a media franchise of various action role-playing video games developed byCapcom that has crossover content in theAnimal Crossing series. Beginning inAnimal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, items based on theMonster Hunter franchise have appeared, as well as a villager namedFelyne. TheMonster Hunter items and Felyne would later return inAnimal Crossing: New Leaf in theWelcome amiibo update.

Felyne first appeared inAnimal Crossing: Happy Home Designer asDLC, withMonster Hunter crossover items. In North America, Felyne was distributed from November 2, 2015 to November 30, 2015 via Nintendo Zone, and November 9, 2015 to December 8, 2016 via SpotPass.

InWelcome amiibo[edit]

Felyne returns in theWelcome amiibo update forNew Leaf, now available if one of the six amiibo figures from theMonster Hunter Stories line is scanned. In addition to all the previousMonster Hunter items inHappy Home Designer making a return, three more items were added: theNabiru mask,Nabiru ornament, andOtomon egg.
