"My role is to ferry travelers between dreams, allowing one such as you to tour the islands of distant strangers. Once within the dream of another, it will be as though you have actually set foot on their island. Sounds fascinating, does it not?"

Luna is atapir introduced inAnimal Crossing: New Leaf who allows the player to visit other towns viadreams. Her name comes from the relation between night's sleep and the moon.

Characteristics[edit]

Appearance[edit]

Luna is a dark brown tapir with blonde hair tied into an upward bun. The outer edges of her ears are white. She wears pink eyeshadow, black eyeliner, red lipstick, and three blue makeup dots beneath each eye. The base of her bun is adorned with three white flowers with blue centers. She wears a white coat lined with pink around the ends of her short sleeves, around her pockets, and around her collar, connecting with the upper-half vertical center of her coat. She wears red pumps.

Personality[edit]

Luna talks in a calm and sophisticated manner. She is well-versed in her area of expertise, which is the world of dreams.

Appearances[edit]

InNew Leaf[edit]

InAnimal Crossing: New Leaf, Luna works in theDream Suite. She allows the player to visit a previously visited town or any town found viaSpotPass. In the world of dreams, the player can do anything they like, but any changes will not be saved and items cannot be brought back to the real world.

InNew Horizons[edit]

While initially absent fromAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, Luna, along withdreams, was added in the1.4.0 Free Summer Update Wave 2.

The Dream Suite building does not exist inNew Horizons and Luna never appears while the player is awake, unlike inNew Leaf. Instead, the player can access Luna's services by sleeping in any bed within their home; beds placed outside and in other villagers' homes do not work. They also cannot be accessed on another player's island, or while the airport gate is open. Her services work the same as they do inNew Leaf. When the player uploads their dream, Luna will mail them aDream Bell Exchange Ticket the next day, which can be sold atNook's Cranny for 5,000 Bells. She will send them another for each subsequent update made to the dream.

With the3.0 Free Update, Luna can create and transport the player to aSlumber Island, which is a separate dream island that the player can customize however they wish. Unlike regular dreams, players also are able to visit other players' Slumber Islands in sharedmultiplayer sessions.

Prior to its removal in version2.0, when the player scans Luna'samiibo card and tries to invite her, she will say:

Hello, this isLuna. Ah! It is you,Player. How may I help you?
Acampsite, you say? To decompress and dream beneath a canopy of stars sounds wonderful... but no, I cannot.
There are many sweet dreams to compile and many travelers in need of a guide. Another time, perhaps.
