Leilani is aturtle[nb 3] inAnimal Crossing: New Leaf who appears onTortimer Island. She is the wife ofKapp'n, the daughter-in-law ofGrams, and the mother ofLeila.
Characteristics[edit]
Appearance[edit]
Leilani is a green turtle/kappa with a bald spot surrounded by brown hair tied in a ponytail, a big yellow muzzle, and a red inner mouth. She is about the same age as her husband, Kapp'n. Unlike the rest of her family, who have closed eyes, she has small, opened eyes. Each of her eyes has a small white pupil and two short black eyelashes. She wears ahibiscus hairpin on her ponytail, and an orange dress with white flower patterns with lightish-orange linings.

Like her family, Leilani speaks with a stereotypical pirate-like accent.

InNew Leaf[edit]
InAnimal Crossing: New Leaf, Leilani appears on Tortimer Island at the reception desk and allows the player to go ontours or return to theirtown. In theWelcome amiibo update,Leilani's pic can be obtained fromWisp if heramiibo is scanned.
InNew Horizons[edit]
Although initially absent, Leilani was added toAnimal Crossing: New Horizons in the 2.0 update, appearing at the Roost if she or any member of Kapp'n's family is invited via the amiibo phone. Additionally,Leilani's poster can be obtained fromNook Shopping after inviting her toPhotopia via heramiibo.
In the3.0 Free Update, Leilani's role was expanded; she now operates theResort Hotel alongside Kapp'n, Grams, and Leila. Leilani is in charge of the rooms, and asks the player for help with designing rooms, as she is not experienced in interior design. In exchange, she rewards the player withHotel Tickets, a new currency which can be spent in the hotel's gift shop, run by Grams, to obtain exclusive items which cannot be obtained withBells.

Her green skin isn't typical for tropical islanders, and that red hibiscus in her hair really suits her. PAL: Leilani runs the information desk on Tortimer Island. If you want to play some minigames, she'll find the perfect tropical tour for you. Afterwards, she'll even call her husband, Kapp'n, to take you home again!
