Leila is a youngturtle[nb 1] inAnimal Crossing: New Leaf who appears onTortimer Island and thehotel. She is the daughter ofKapp'n andLeilani, and the granddaughter ofGrams. Reflecting her young age, she often substitutesL's andR's withW's when speaking.

Appearance[edit]
Leila is a green turtle/kappa with a bald spot surrounded by brown hair tied in a pair of short ponytails, a big yellow muzzle, a red inner mouth, and pink cheeks, being the youngest in her family. Like her father, Kapp'n, and grandmother, Grams, she has closed eyes with white round rims. She wears a pair of yellow flower hairpins on her ponytails, and a pink sleeveless dress with white flower patterns with pinkish-red linings.

Like her family, Leila speaks with a stereotypical pirate-like accent.

InNew Leaf[edit]
InAnimal Crossing: New Leaf, Leila appears on Tortimer Island and, if spoken to, will ask the player to play "supermarket." The player can sell items obtained on the island to Leila for 5% of their full value. In theWelcome amiibo update, Leila's Pic can be obtained fromWisp if heramiibo is scanned.
InNew Horizons[edit]
Leila was added toAnimal Crossing: New Horizons upon the release of the2.0 update on November 4, 2021. In this game, she can appear atThe Roost as a visitor. She can also appear with Kapp'n's family if any of their amiibo cards are used. She can be seen eating aRoost sablé cookie as she is too young to drink coffee yet. This is shared withDaisy Mae. Additionally,Leila's poster can be obtained fromNook Shopping after inviting her toPhotopia via heramiibo.
With the3.0 update, Leila can be found sitting in theResort Hotel lobby during the daytime. Despite not working in the hotel, she wears a new outfit matching the styling of the hotel's uniform. The player can speak with Leila to learn basic information about the hotel and her family, expressing admiration to the player for helping them. Leila is absent from the lobby at night, evidently going to bed early on account of her young age.
