Leap Day is a minor event inAnimal Crossing: City Folk andAnimal Crossing: New Leaf. It occurs onFebruary 29, a date only accessible during years divisible by four.
A notice about the event is posted on thebulletin board, andvillagers may also talk about the event. InNew Leaf,Isabelle will announce that it is a leap day when theplayer first loads the game that day.
If a player'sbirthday is set as February 29, it will be celebrated on that day during leap years and on the 28th every other year. Villagers will remark on the player's birthday taking place on a leap day during leap years. Leap Day is alsoLuna's birthday.
