Koalas are a species ofvillager in theAnimal Crossing series. They are indigenous to Australia, lending a theme to some of the villagers' names. Koalas are one of two groups of marsupials that appear in theAnimal Crossing series, the other beingkangaroos.
There are eleven koala villagers, of which seven are female and four are male, making it a predominantly female species. Of these, three arenormal, two arebig sister, one islazy, one isjock, one ispeppy, one iscranky, one issnooty, and one issmug.Faith was originally a normalislander before becoming a big sister villager inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons. There are currently no peppy koalas inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons.
Huggy, the only peppy koala, is the only koala who has not reappeared sinceDoubutsu no Mori e+. All of the koalas who appear inNew Horizons also appear inAnimal Crossing: Pocket Camp. Additionally,Yuka is the only koala to appear in every game so far.
