Freckles is apeppyduckvillager in theAnimal Crossing series who appears in all games to date. Her name comes from the freckles on her face. Her catchphrase “ducky” relates to her species.
Freckles's Japanese name,Maguro (マグロ), means "tuna," and as such, she has a general fish theme. She ownstunas inside of herNew Leaf andNew Horizonshouses, and the tuna item is unlocked for doing herHappy Home Designer house request, which is a direct reference to her Japanese namesake. HerHappy Home Designer andHappy Home Paradise house requests are fish-themed, and the chimneys of herNew Leaf andHappy Home Designer houses produce fish-shaped smoke plumes. Additionally, herstar sign isPisces, which is symbolized by a fish, and her startinghobby inAnimal Crossing: Wild World is fishing.
InNew Horizons, Freckles has the fashionhobby and may be seen wearing a pink purse with a white flower on it, as well as a specific headwear or accessory item.

Freckles is a pink duck with a bit of brunette hair on top of her head. She gets her name from the five freckles just above her bright yellow beak. She has peachy orange cheeks below her eyes. She has white tips on her wings, and her eyes are round and white with large black pupils. They are positioned quite far apart from each other. Her legs are the same color as her beak.

As a peppy villager, Freckles will always appear to be in a good mood. She will get along with other villagers including theplayer, making it easy to befriend her and gain herpicture inAnimal Crossing: Wild World. She will enjoy the usualhobbies, and may ask the player forbugs orfish that she finds cute. She will easily get upset, but due to a short attention span she will forget ever having the conversation. Like all peppy villagers, she dreams of becoming famous in the future and readsMs. Nintendique, an unseen magazine read bysnooty and peppy villagers inAnimal Crossing: Wild World. She will get on well withnormal,lazy,big sister and otherpeppy villagers, but may annoy snooty andcranky villagers with her upbeat personality.
