Don Resetti, also known as simplyDon, is amole in theAnimal Crossing series. He is the older, calmer brother ofMr. Resetti. His name may be a pun on "don't reset," referring to his job. In games prior toAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, he appears rarely in place of his brother when theplayer resets or does not save. Likewise, inNew Horizons, he appears rarely in place of his brother as the operator of theRescue Service. Don first appears inDoubutsu no Mori+ and appears in all subsequent games exceptAnimal Crossing: Wild World.

Don is a brown mole with a dark-brown beard, black whiskers around his nose, and black, upturned eyebrows with dark-brown linings. His hands and the tip of his nose are brown to dark-brown. Like his younger brother, Mr. Resetti, he wears a white shirt, blue overalls, black boots, and a yellow helmet. He is taller and thinner than his brother. InDoubutsu no Mori+ andAnimal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (for his house), he instead wears a brown haramaki and green helmet with a white stripe. He mostly closes his baggy eyes and mouth, only showing black eyelids and dark-brown lips, but when he opens them, his eyes are small, oval/round-shaped, and black with white pupils, while his mouth has reddish-pink inside, and inside also has white buck teeth and a pink tongue.

Personality[edit]

Don is not as harsh as his younger brother and will merely advise the player about saving rather than yelling, threatening them, or having the player repeat sentences after him.

InAnimal Crossing[edit]

InAnimal Crossing, Don Resetti replaces his brother the fifth time the player resets. He appears mellow in comparison to his brother, by not shouting and screaming at the player for resetting. He does not appear again afterwards.

Don is a new character added toAnimal Crossing and is not present inDoubutsu no Mori.

InCity Folk[edit]

Don Resetti reappears inAnimal Crossing: City Folk after his absence inAnimal Crossing: Wild World, and his personality has not changed sinceAnimal Crossing. He appears after the player resets five times. He is mild mannered, and tells the player that his brother (who he refers to as "Sonny") is a good guy. Unlike Resetti, he does not yell "SCRAM!" when he ends his talk.

Don will also sometimes be present in the Reset Surveillance Center. This can be accessed after 8:00 PM on random nights and if one of the two traffic cones are removed. Once the player enters and talk to Don or his brother, they will give the player asilver shovel to leave.

InNew Leaf[edit]

Don Resetti also appears inAnimal Crossing: New Leaf. He replaces Mr. Resetti the sixth time the game is reset after the Reset Center has been built and does not appear again. If the player visits the Reset Center five times, Don will give hispicture to the player.

InNew Horizons[edit]

Like his brother, Don also works with the Rescue Service and only appears via dialogue. He sometimes fills in for Mr. Resetti, and he may also appear in Resetti's place if the player calls the Rescue Service excessively, mentioning Resetti is taking a break. He will tell the player to think of him as a role similar to a substitute teacher, keeping his calm demeanor and admitting that he is new to the program. He will fill in for the player when he is first called, meaning that he can be called again multiple times in a single day until thenext day. He will no longer answer to the player afterwards.

With the release of the2.0 Free Update, either he or Mr. Resetti will usually show up atThe Roost at a set period of time, such as around 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM and can be talked to. If his amiibo is scanned, he will bring Mr. Resetti along with him.

As Don likes to say, "Resettin' ain't good. So don't do it!" If Sonny is the brother who catches you, you'll hear a lot more than that! PAL: This chap runs the Reset Surveillance Center with his brother, the fabled scolder Mr. Resetti (first name: Sonny). Their job is to warn players who switch off without saving. Don's gentle about it, though. He'll say stuff like, "Resettin' ain't no good. So, um, don't do it!" If you get caught resetting, just hope it's Don's face you see.
