Chameleons are a type ofspecialreptile characters in theAnimal Crossing series, first appearing inAnimal Crossing: City Folk. Real-world chameleons have unique eyes with connected eye-lids and a small hole big enough for a pupil to see-through. Another distinctive trait of chameleons is their eye movements, which appear to be separate in each eye.

To date, there have been two chameleon characters,Nat andFlick, both of whom host theBug-Off during the summer. Nat hosts the competition inAnimal Crossing: City Folk andAnimal Crossing: New Leaf, while his son Flick takes over this role inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons.
