Thecampsite is a location inAnimal Crossing: Pocket Camp andAnimal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete. It is the central hub where the player first starts the games, and their camper, the interior of which serves as their home, can be found parked in the upper-left area of it.

At the beginning of both games, theplayer is greeted and informed of their new role asCamp Manager byIsabelle upon exiting their camper. She asks the player to describe their ideal campsite using one of four words, each a differenttheme, which determines the firstvillager and starting furniture.

The player can decorate the campsite withfurniture andrugs, and are tasked by Isabelle to turn it into a vibrant attraction for visitors. Up to eightvillagers can initially be invited, but after reaching a high level, up to sixteen villagers can be invited. The campsite is the only outdoor area that can be modified by the player, and the sky and terrain will visibly change with the time of day and season.

At the back of the campsite, there two fixed plots in whichamenities can be placed. New amenities, and upgrades to existing ones, can be crafted by the player. Upon starting the game, one plot will be occupied by a generic tent, while the vacant space cannot have an amenity built upon it until the player reaches level 10.

On the far left side of the campsite is a garden managed byLloid. The player can purchase seeds, or plant flowers in one of the 20 available plots. Only a small variety of seeds can be purchased, so the player must cross-pollinate flowers in order to obtain hybrid flower seeds.

Terrain customization[edit]

The terrain inside and around the campsite can be customized once the player has reached level 13, with many different options available for purchase. InPocket Camp, the prices vary between options, but inAnimal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, each category has a fixed price inLeaf Tokens for all options, and the price only varies between categories. Terrain Exchange Tickets can be redeemed for any single terrain part, and are earned through completing Pocket Picture Challenges. The player may preview customizations, and can change the time of day and season to view its appearance in different conditions.

Middle ground

The middle ground is the main area of the campsite, and also encompasses a narrow area behind the navigable space. The options available can change the campsite's appearance drastically. The small area behind the campsite can have different foliage, bodies of water, or even buildings. Certain options even enclose the entire space indoors (though the sky can be seen above the roofline when the camera is zoomed out).
