Brewster is apigeon in theAnimal Crossing series who operatesThe Roost, a café. He first appears inAnimal Crossing: Wild World and has appeared in all subsequent games. His name, is areal-world surname, also a pun on "brew", a slang term for "coffee".

Appearance[edit]
Brewster is a dark turquoise pigeon with a yellow beak, pink feet, and a large mustache separated by his beak. He wears a black vest and bowtie, a white apron, and round glasses.
Personality[edit]
Brewster is reserved, saying little to the player and showing little emotion. One exception to this is if the player opts to let their coffee cool before drinking it; Brewster becomes shocked and ridicules the player for not drinking it hot. The more the player buys coffee, the more he warms up to them, eventually expressing each day that he was hoping to see the player when they order.
Brewster has a deep voice, similar to that ofcrankyvillagers.
Background[edit]
InWild World andCity Folk, after the player talks to Brewster for a while, over a course of a few weeks, he will tell them his story, which suggests he used to own a coffee shop in thecity before moving to thetown to open up a small business in the museum, after meetingBlathers.

InWild World[edit]
InAnimal Crossing: Wild World, Brewster owns The Roost, where he will serve the player a cup of coffee a day for 200Bells and be present when otherspecial visitors and villagers are in The Roost. He will also be present whenK. K. Slider is performing. After buying coffee for a while, he will offer special drinks which may include pigeon milk. At first, Brewster is reserved towards the player, however, he begins to open up towards the player after they have bought coffee for a while.
InCity Folk[edit]
InAnimal Crossing: City Folk, once the player becomes friends with him, (usually after seven cups of coffee), he will offer to store the player'sgyroid if the player is holding one while speaking to him. He will store one of each gyroid when spoken to by talking to him from across the bar (not sitting on the stool). He will also offer a shot of pigeon milk, like he did inWild World. OnValentine's Day, he will offer theplayer hot chocolate instead of coffee, and will say "Happy Valentine's Day!" instead of the usual "Thanks."
InNew Leaf[edit]
InAnimal Crossing: New Leaf, Brewster continues to run The Roost, which can be built as aPublic Works Project. When the player sits down, he will offer to brew a cup of coffee for them, allowing them to choose the kind of coffee beans, how much sugar, and how much milk they would like. However, beginning with the player's fourth purchase of coffee, they can choose their usual blend of coffee or they can change the blend. In addition, after purchasing three cups of coffee, the pigeon will begin to allow the player to take their coffee to go.
Upon purchasing seven cups of coffee, Brewster will allow the player to work a part-time job behind the counter as a barista, making coffee for the town's special characters and villagers. Depending on how well the player does, Brewster may give them normal, good, or superb coffee beans. Additionally, as the player successfully completes orders, Brewster will give the player pieces of furniture, including Brewstoid gyroids.
InNew Horizons[edit]
Brewster was added toAnimal Crossing: New Horizons in an update released on November 4, 2021, reprising his role as the owner of The Roost. It was revealed in a teaser during the September 23, 2021Nintendo Direct.[1] Further information on Brewster's role was revealed during the October 15, 2021 New Horizons Direct.[2] In order to build The Roost, the player must talk to Blathers, find Brewster on one of the gyroid islands duringKapp'n'sboat tour, and then return to Blathers to inform him that they found Brewster. The museum will be closed thenext day for construction, and once construction is complete, The Roost will be located next to the art exhibit.
Additionally, he makes a cameo on the back ofK.K. Slider's guitar, alongsideDr. Shrunk. In the initial release ofNew Horizons,lazy villagers would sometimes mention Brewster, but this dialogue was removed byversion 1.2.0.
Brewster's poster can be obtained fromNook Shopping after inviting him toPhotopia via hisamiibo.
InAnimal Crossing Plaza[edit]
Brewster appears as a Miiverse stamp inAnimal Crossing Plaza.
InPocket Camp[edit]
InAnimal Crossing: Pocket Camp, Brewster appears to run theBrewster's Sweet Harvest flower event, giving the player various items from the Vineyard series by bringing him Bumbledrops, which are only attracted by growingBerrypedals. Additionally, Brewster can appear directly in the campsite by crafting Brewster's Stand.
DuringFishing Tourney (Pumpkins), if the player reached a total size goal between 15,690 cm to 19,380 cm, they will obtain the Brewster Pumpkin item.
InGekijōban Doubutsu no Mori[edit]
Brewster has a small role in🎬Gekijōban Doubutsu no Mori. He first appears whenAi enters The Roost to deliver a package forApollo and speaks only afterMargie moves.

- The "pigeon milk" he serves upon befriending the player is likely a reference to real-life crop milk, a nutritious secretion produced by the crops of parent birds to be fed to their offspring. Pigeons and doves are some of the most well-known species to produce crop milk, so it is often also called pigeon milk.
