Beavers are a type ofspecial characters in theAnimal Crossing series. They have large teeth and flat tails like their real-life counterparts. To date, there have been two beaver characters,Chip andC.J., both of whom host theFishing Tourney. Chip hosts the tourney in many of the games betweenDoubutsu no Mori andAnimal Crossing: Pocket Camp (excludingAnimal Crossing: Wild World, whereTortimer hosts the event instead), while C.J. takes up this role inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons.
