Animal Village is the setting of🎬Gekijōban Doubutsu no Mori. Modeled after atown inAnimal Crossing: Wild World, the village is surrounded bycliffs to the north, west, and east, with ariver running through the center and leading to an ocean on the south border. The village houses variousanimals and buildings, as well asAi, who moves in at the beginning of the film. Like a town inWild World, Animal Village contains atown hall, theAble Sisters,Nook's Cranny,[nb 1] and amuseum.Tortimer is themayor of Animal Village, and during the events of the film he is running unopposed for reelection.
During the film, two events are held in Animal Village: theFireworks Festival and the Winter Festival. During the Fireworks Festival, in addition to fireworks, various stalls are set up outside town hall andK.K. Slider performs. During the Winter Festival, a competition is held to see who sets up the best holiday decorations.
