Nonbinary is a term that refers to people whose gender is not completely and exclusively male or female. They can identify withnot having gender at all, withboth binary genders, with athird identity,or an identity which can change over time. Nonbinary people fall under thetransgender umbrella term, andnonbinary is an umbrella term itself, although some people use it to describe their specificgender identity too.

This site is a wiki, meaning that anybody (including you) can make a contribution to it. You don't even need to create an account, although it's strongly recommended. These are some things you can do to contribute:
- Edit an existing article. Search any page and improve its content! You can also expand astub.
- Go to thelist of wanted pages and create one of them!
- Help toadd information to pages which need it!
- Spread the word. If you know somebody who is nonbinary or questioning their gender, tell them about this wiki. If you don't know anybody like this, tell them anyway!
Gender-neutral language, also calledgender-inclusive language, is the practice of using words that don't give an idea of someone being female or male. For example, the word "fireman" gives the idea that a person in that work is male. An offer for a job as a "cleaning lady" gives the idea that only a woman should do the job. The gender-neutral alternatives are to say "fire fighter" and "janitor," respectively. Then it is easier to see that these jobs can be done by a person of any gender. Gender-neutral language is important infeminism, because changing the way that people talk can help makesexist ideas less common. For example, the sexist idea that some jobs should only be done by people of certain genders.
