Joost Agterhoek (1988, Netherlands) worked as technology and policy advisor at NLnet. He helped to select and supports research projects that receive funding from NLnet while keeping in touch with stakeholders, contacts in the field and (digital) society at large. He was primarily involved withNGI Zero Discovery andNGI Zero PET, part of theNext Generation Internet initiative.
Joost has a background in business journalism and studied sociology at theUniversity of Amsterdam. ForInternet Society Netherlands he researchedhow organizations implement the General Data Protection Regulation and wrote about privacy issues concerning theDutch Intelligence and Security Services Act and the GDPR.
